A linear earthwork bank approximately 3 metres wide is visible on aerial photographs taken from the 1940s onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is not depicted on the available historic mapping, but it is roughly parallel to two linear earthwork banks circa 20 metres to the north that correspond to a road on the Tithe map which is annotated as ‘site of Roman Road’ on the late-19th century OS maps. It is interpreted as the relict remains of a former boundary bank that is likely to have enclosed a field of medieval or post-medieval date, although it is possible that it is related to the Roman road.
