Former field boundaries of possible medieval date are visible as earthwork ditch and banked features on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Ridge Farm. The linear field boundaries are northeast to southwest and north to south aligned and occupy an area classified during the Historic Landscape Characterisation project as comprising ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’. The earthworks to the north are depicted as field boundaries on the Parish Tithe Map of 1838-48, whilst those to the south appear to have passed out of use by this time.
