Possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1950 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Hanger Lane. The two adjacent earthworks are oval and semi-circular in shape and measure approximately 26m in length by 13m in width and approximately 32m in length by12m in width, respectively. The earthworks are situated on gentle to moderate west facing slope in proximity to a number of similar such features also recorded during this survey. They are likely the result of small, farm-scale extraction.
