An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southwest of Hanger Farm. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 34m in length by 22m in width and is situated on gentle northwest facing slope in proximity to a number of similar such features also recorded during this survey. The earthwork was not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey owing to dense tree cover here. It is likely the result of small, farm-scale extraction.
