Stanbrook, M., 1991, Old Dartmoor Schools Remembered, 73 (Monograph). SDV359884.

Listed in the account books for the Widecombe and Dartmoor Charity Schools is Hexworthy, where children were taught by Jane Beard in 1796, followed by Agnes Warn. Mary Datson and Mary Hamlyn (who also taught at Brimpts in 1815) are mentioned as teachers at Hexworthy, as well as Johanna Smith who taught for several years until 1846.
