Stanbrook, M., 1991, Old Dartmoor Schools Remembered, 87-88 (Monograph). SDV359884.
Mrs Larpent built a separate teacher's house shortly after the school opened in 1855, reserving two rooms for her own use when staying in the area. Her interest in the school and neighbourhood meant she stayed more and more frequently, extending the house and adding a coach house and stables and gardens. By 1872 she'd taken over permanently and extended the school building to provide accommodation for the teacher.
Ordnance Survey, 2016, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV359352.
The modern mapping shows 'Leusdon House' (divided into 1 and 2). The older part is on the eastern side and the western half was built by the early 20th century.
