A series of field boundaries of potential medieval date are visible as earthwork banks and ditch on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, on Dunkeswell Turbury. The linear earthworks are characterised by two long and parallel banks located towards the southern edge of Dunkeswell Turbury. These are eastnortheast to westsouthwest aligned, measure up to 616m in length and are spaced approxiamtely 16m apart. A series of northnortheast to southsouthwest aligned banks and possible ditch are visible elsewhere across Dunkeswell Turbury, some of which are contiguous with the two longer earthworks. These boundaries appear to predate the enclosures depicted on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, so may represent partial evidence of the medieval land form here. The digital Parish Tithe mosaic is incomplete here, so it is not possible to determine whether these boundaries were extant by this time.
