Parallel linear earthwork banks, approximately 3.5 metres in width, are visible below sparse tree cover in four of the fields around Woodhouse farmstead on aerial photographs taken in the 1940s. Their broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of post-medieval or 19th century tree planting banks. With the exception of a separate small field to the east of the farm at SY2836599230, their location corresponds with three fields depicted as orchard on the 19th century mapping. The earthworks are interpreted as orchard banks. The earthworks in the fields north of the farm seem to have been levelled in the second part of the 20th century, but those to the south are probably extant. The well-preserved earthworks in the separate field at SY2836599230 do not correspond to orchards on the historic mapping and may have fallen out of use by the late-19th century.
