A curvilinear earthwork ditch, over 200 metres long and from 7 to 22 metres wide, is visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It corresponds to a field boundary depicted on the historic mapping, but the northern part is very much wider than the rest. This wide section is not visible on the available aerial photographs due to tree cover, and this side of the field is depicted as wooded on the late-19th century mapping. It is interpreted as the remains of a post-medieval or modern extractive pit that stretched along a field boundary. The field boundary subsequently went out of use in the second part of the 20th century.
