An irregularly-shaped earthwork pit, circa 40 by 30 metres, is visible on aerial photographs taken from the 1940s onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is not depicted on any of the available historic mapping and corresponds to an area of trees and scrub on the late-19th century maps and is interpreted as the remains of an extractive pit that fell out of use by the late-19th century.
