Bluesky International, 2016, LiDAR DTM data (0.5m resolution) Blackdown Hills and East Devon AONBs: 3 transects, LIDAR ST1006 Bluesky International DTM 27-JUN-2016 (Cartographic). SDV359714.
The possible extraction pits are visible as earthwork pits.

Former extractive pits of possible post-medieval to mid-19th century date were visible as earthwork pits on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, on North Hill. The four adjacent earthworks are semi-circular to sub-oval in shape and measure from between 18m up to 33m in length. They appear to have been cut into the base of a scarp with forms part of North Hill. This area is dominated by a series of linear and small circular pits of whetstone mine galleries, although it is uncertain whether these earthworks represent associated features. They were not visible on aerial photographs or other digital images owing to thick tree cover here.
