A possible former field boundary of potential medieval date is visible as a series of earthwork ditches on aerial photographs of 1943 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the south of Droughtwell Farm. The segmented earthwork ditches appear to form part of a single, sinuous east to west aligned field boundary, situated on fairly level land. The possible field boundary is not depicted on the Parish Tithe map of 1838-48 which shows an area of post-medieval enclosures and appears to have passed out of use by this time. It is also possible, however, the earthworks form part of a medieval to 19th century trackway, several fairly extensive trackways being recorded within the vicinity here.
