Parallel linear earthwork banks, approximately 4 metres in width, are visible below sparse tree cover on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and seem to survive until the mid-1960s. Their broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of post-medieval or 19th century tree planting banks and orchard is depicted in this location on the available 19th century mapping. They are not visible on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and they are interpreted as orchard banks that fell out of use in the mid-20th century.
