A possible prehistoric barrow is visible as an earthwork mound on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Westerhope Farm. The well-defined and prominent earthwork is sub-oval in shape, measures approximately 23m in length by 19m in width and is situated on the gentle northwest facing slopes of a ridge. This earthwork lies in close proximity to three barrows located to the south (MDV11498; MDV1524 & MDV50853). The earthwork mound was not clearly visible on aerial photographs or other digital images made available to the survey. Further investigation, such as a site visit may help to shed additional light on the character of this possible burial mound.
