Farmhouse at Sowtontown is depicted on the late 19th century historic map (doesn’t appear to be shown on the previous Tithe Map); appears to be mid-late 19th century in date.

No archaeological deposits of features were present in the trenches for the extension, and the area had previously been landscaped, initially for the construction of the house and associated flower bed, and later for the creation of a stable yard.
