Parallel linear earthwork banks, approximately 3.5 metres in width, are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1947 onwards. Their broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of post-medieval or 19th century tree planting banks and orchard is depicted in this location on the Tithe map and late-19th century OS maps. Tree cover partially obscures the ground surface on the 1940s images and they are interpreted as orchard banks that fell out of use in the second part of the 20th century.
