A roughly oval earthwork pit, circa 44 by 36 metres in size, is visible on aerial photographs taken from 1948 and on images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. It is not depicted on any of the available historic maps, and is interpreted as the remains of an extractive pit that was abandoned by the late-19th century.
