Ordnance Survey, 2016, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV359352.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

Two broad but shallow pits circa 50 to 60 metres across are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014. The visible earthworks did not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the 19th century mapping available to the survey. This supports the interpretation that the visible earthworks are the remains of extractive pits that had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century. The eastern of the two survives as an earthwork but the western has probably been levelled.
