Full description
Devon County Council, 1838-1848, Tithe Mosaic, approximately 1838-1848 (Cartographic). SDV349431.

Ordnance Survey, 1880-1899, First Edition Ordnance 25 inch map (Cartographic). SDV336179.
The visible earthworks roughly correspond with a narrow triangular plot, plot number illegible.
Environment Agency, 1998-2014, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution), LIDAR ST1101 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 30-SEP-2014 (Cartographic). SDV359177.
An irregularly shaped narrow earthwork pit was visible.
Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.
A former extractive pit circa 85 by 18 metres in size was visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014.
The visible earthwork corresponds with a narrow plot depicted in this location on the Tithe Map for Buckerell, and a possible pit or pond on the OS First Edition 25 inch map. This might support the interpretation that the extractive pit survived as an earthwork into the mid-to-late 19th century but was out of use by circa 1890.
