The extraction pits are faintly visible as earthwork pits.

Former extractive pits of possible post-medieval to mid-19th century date were visible as earthwork pits on aerial photographs of 1950 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the north of Hookedrise Farm. The earthworks comprise two irregular shaped earthworks, approximately 32m and 42m in length, and a smaller oval shaped pit, approximately 11m in length.
