The visible earthworks did not correspond with any depicted pit feature.

A roughly circular pit circa 35 metres in diameter was visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1950 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014.
The visible earthworks did not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the 19th century mapping available to the survey. This supports the interpretation that the visible earthworks are the remains of an extractive that pit had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century.
A possible access track was visible to the south of the west-east aligned field boundary immediately to the south, possibly adjacent to a former north-south aligned field boundary.
The pit was not noted as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014, and has probably been levelled.
