Driveway forming the eastern approach to the house. Now with a good tarmac surface, the western end dates from the time of the medieval bishop's palace, the eastern end was added after the old road was diverted in 1804. It provides an impressive approach to the house between two lines of lime trees.

The western half of the present driveway approached the house from the east through a lime avenue that was mature when Swete visited in 1800. This is suggested to be the main approach to the medieval house. The eastern end dates from 1804 and therefore the limes along it can be no older than 200 years. See report for further details.
