A possible extraction pit of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1950 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southeast of Higher Slade Farm. The earthwork is sub-oval in shape, measures approximately 25m in length by 16m in width and is situated on moderate northeast facing slopes at the head of a combe.
