A possible extraction pit of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1947, and as an earthwork pit with an additional mound, on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Willow Farm. The earthworks comprise an irregular shaped pit, measuring approximately 55m in length by 30m in width, with an oval shaped mound, approximately 16m in length by 8m in width, from possible up-cast material along its northwest edge. The earthworks should, however, be viewed with some caution and it is also possible they are the result of natural slumping on the combe slopes here.
