Ordnance Survey, 1982, OS/82219 V, OS/82219 V 1633-34 03-SEP-1982 (Aerial Photograph). SDV357675.
The possible extraction pit is visible as an earthwork pit.

The area has been developed and the possible former extraction pit appears to have been levelled.

A possible extraction pit of post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1982, at Sheldon. The earthwork is sub-oval in shape and measures approximately 61m in length by 36m in width. The earthwork appears to have been levelled by 1999 following development of the site. The former earthwork should, however, be viewed with some degree of caution as it is also possible it is the result of natural slumping on the east facing slopes of a combe.
