Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

A curvilinear bank up to 4 metres wide and 60 metres long was visible as an earthwork and cropmark to the west of Crosshill Farm, Awliscombe parish. The bank did not correspond to the location of any field boundary depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey, although they are broadly in keeping with the layout of the field pattern to the south which is characterised as enclosures based on medieval strip fields. The bank is interpreted as the remains of a field boundary of medieval date that became disused by the mid-19th century. The bank was not visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and has probably been levelled.
