A bank circa 7 metres wide and up to 123 metres long was visible as an earthwork to the north of Charlton Hill Farm, Feniton parish. The bank did not correspond to the location of any field boundary depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey, although it is broadly in keeping with the layout of the surrounding field pattern is characterised as Barton Fields, largely regular enclosures of probable post-medieval date but with some curvilinear boundaries based on earlier enclosure patterns. The bank is therefore interpreted as the remains of a field boundary of medieval or post-medieval date that became disused by the mid-19th century.
