An extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1982 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northwest of South Farm. The sub-oval shaped earthwork measures approximately 42m in length by 30m in width and is located within the southeast corner of a field. The extent of the earthwork is symbolised by a dashed line on the Parish Tithe Map of 1838-48, so clearly pre-dates this time.
