A possible extraction pit of likely post-medieval to 19th century date is visible as an earthwork pit on aerial photographs of 1982 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the east of Bodmiscombe Wood Farm. The irregular shaped earthwork measures approximately 52m in length by 32m in width and is located in an area where a number of similar such features have been recorded.
