A possible former field boundary of between medieval to post-medieval date is visible as an earthwork banked feature on aerial photographs of 1982 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, at Bodmiscombe. The earthwork is L-shaped in plan and is northeast to southwest and southeast to northwest aligned. It is not depicted on the Parish Tithe map, so appears to have passed out of use by this time. Its alignment does not, however, obviously respect the historic field patterns here classified during the Historic Landscape Characterisation project as comprising ‘Medieval enclosures based on strip fields’.
