Earthwork ditches of possible medieval to post-medieval date are visible on aerial photographs of 1982 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the west of Lower Northcott Farm. The two linear and parallel earthworks are northeast to southwest aligned and spaced approximately 17m apart. The function of these earthworks is, however, largely unclear, although they do appear to predate a field boundary first depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map, which overlies the northern of the two earthworks. They may represent former field boundaries, or possible farm trackways associated with Lower Northcott Farm.
