Earthworks of uncertain origin are visible as a series of banks and pits on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the southwest of Park Lane. The subtle earthworks occupy an area of approximately 0.42 hectares of gentle east facing slope, along the break of slope of a steep sloping combe. They comprise three possible sub-circular pit-like features approximately 13m in diameter, with a series of possible linear north to south and east to west aligned banks. The earthworks bear some resemblance to the extensive open cast mines visible as pit and mound/banked features located approximately 3km to the south, so may conceivable form an isolated patch of similar Roman to early medieval workings. Given their situation along the edge of a prominent combe, they could also, however be of natural weathering and slumping.
