Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

A slightly curved bank nearly 4 metres wide and over 100 metres long was visible as an earthwork within a shallow hollow or ditch up to 15 metres wide to the south of Rydon House, on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014.
The ditch did not correspond to the location of any field boundary depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey, although it does reflect boundary depicted to the west on the Tithe Map for Talaton, and might predate the extant field pattern which, beyond the parkland associated with Rydon House, is characterised as Barton Fields and post-medieval enclosure.
