An irregularly oval pit was visible as an earthwork.

An irregularly oval pit circa 55 by 30 metres in size was visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1982 onwards and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 and aerial photographs of 2016.
The visible earthworks did not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the 19th century mapping available to the survey. This supports the interpretation that the visible earthworks are the remains of an extractive that pit had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century.
