An oval pit was visible as an earthwork.

A small oval pit circa 35 metres across was visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014.
The visible earthworks did not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the 19th century mapping available to the survey. However, it did fall within an orchard plot named as Pit Park on the Tithe Apportionments for Payhembury. This supports the interpretation that the visible earthworks are the remains of an extractive that pit had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century.
