Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

The remains of parallel ridges circa 6 metres apart were visible as low earthwork banks over an area of circa 0.1ha on digital images derived from lidar data acquired from 1998 to 2014.
The banks closely resemble earthworks recorded elsewhere in the survey interpreted as evidence for orchard cultivation of fruit trees, typically apples. However, the visible banks fell within Plot 410 on the Tithe map and apportionments for Clyst Hydon, listed as Great Withey Plot. This might support the interpretation that the plot ceased to be used as an orchard prior to circa 1840 and was subsequently used to grow alternative trees, possibly willow as withies.
