The Bridford Inn was converted into an inn during the mid-1960s from two 17th century cottages, still retaining some of the original stone walls and fireplaces. The main oak posts that support the wooden-beamed ceiling came from oak left over during the construction of the replica of the Pilgrim Fathers' ship The Mayflower at the Appledore boatyard. The inn replaced the 'Old Harriers' (now a private residence) as the only inn in Bridford.

Ordnance Survey, 2017, MasterMap (Cartographic). SDV359962.

Modern map shows The Bridford Inn.

Vint, C., 2021, Bridford Inn (Personal Comment). SDV364198.

Considered to be a non-designated Heritage Asset (Building Conservation Officer, Dartmoor National Park Authority).
