Summary
A curvilinear ditch, visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken from 1945 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, is tentatively interpreted as a relict medieval or post-medieval field boundary, which had fallen out of use by the mid-19th century.

A curvilinear ditch is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs taken from 1945 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. It seems to terminate at its north-eastern end at a kink in an extant field boundary, and it is tentatively interpreted as the remains of a medieval or post-medieval field boundary that had become disused by the mid-19th century. It runs directly downslope and an alternative interpretation could be that it is a drainage ditch.
