A somewhat disjointed network of partially conjoined narrow linear and curvilinear earthwork ditches are visible on aerial photographs taken from 1945 onwards and on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. Many run roughly parallel along the contour, dropping less than 5 metres along their length, and they are interpreted as the gutters of a catchmeadow system of post-medieval or 19th century date. Seven linear ditches aligned downslope join or cross these. Water is depicted flowing from west to east along field boundaries in this location on the late-19th century mapping, suggesting that the boundary ditches were the water source.
