Environment Agency, 1998-2014, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution), LIDAR ST0902-ST0903 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 30-SEP-2014 (Cartographic). SDV359177.

Earthwork banks were visible as earthworks.

Next Perspectives, 2010, Aerial Photography for Great Britain, Next Perspectives APGB Imagery ST0902 22-MAY-2010 (Aerial Photograph). SDV356259.

The banks remain visible as earthworks under very sparse planting.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

The remains of parallel ridges circa 6 metres apart were visible as low earthwork banks over an area of circa 0.8 ha on aerial photographs of 1947 onwards and digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2010 and lidar data acquired between 1998 and 2014.
The visible banks fell within Plot 180 on the Tithe map and apportionments for Payhembury, listed as Lower Orchard, Uggarton Farm. It remained depicted as an orchard on the Ordnance Survey 25 inch First and Second Edition maps of circa 1880-90 and 1904-6.
The visible earthworks are therefore interpreted as the remains of banks made for fruit tree planting and improved orchard drainage, dating possibly from the post-medieval period or the 19th century. The orchard remains very lightly and oartially planted on digital images derived from aerial photographs of 2010 and possibly continues in use on a small scale.
