Parallel linear earthwork banks are visible on aerial photographs taken in 1948. Their broadly cross-contour orientation is indicative of post-medieval or 19th century tree planting banks and this plot of land was recorded as orchard in the Tithe apportionment. Mature trees are depicted in this location on the late-19th century OS mapping, suggesting that the area was no longer managed as orchard, and trees were not visible in this location in the 1940s aerial photographs. The earthworks are not visible on later available aerial imagery and may have been levelled.
