Several curvilinear earthwork banks are visible on images derived from lidar data captured in 2016. Some may partly correspond to the boundaries of small irregularly shaped fields depicted on the Tithe map, although they are not depicted on the late-19th century OS maps when the fields had been amalgamated and mixed woodland established with a network of trackways. The banks are interpreted as the remains of medieval field boundaries, both bounding and subdividing the more level high ground.
