Cropmarks which have formed over a levelled ditch of a possible prehistoric ring ditch are visible on aerial photographs of 1948, on level ground to the northeast of Cherryhayes. The circular cropmark measures approximately 21m in diameter and is visible as a narrow dark cropmark, approximately 2m in width which encompasses an oval shaped, pale cropmark of a possible levelled burial mound. Some caution should be exercised, and it is also possible the cropmarks are associated in some way to the dispersed military Second World War camps located within the immediate vicinity, or are of recent agricultural origin. The cropmarks are not visible on other aerial photographs or digital images made available to the survey.
