Possible tree-planting banks of a former post-medieval to 19th century orchard are visible as a series of linear earthwork banks on aerial photographs of 1948, at Cockhayes, Upottery. Orchards are depicted in close proximity here on the Parish Tithe map, although any orchard present here appears to have passed out of use by this time. The earthwork banks, on which the fruit trees may have been established, are northwest to southeast aligned and occupy an area of approximately 0.54 hectares of gentle southeast facing slope. The earthworks are not visible on other aerial photographs made available to the survey and the site has recently been levelled following expansion of farm buildings at Cockhayes.
