Summary
A series of earthwork banks of possible medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs of 1971 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Middle Luxton. The boundaries, which largely respect the historic field patterns of medieval enclosures based on strip fields, appear to have passed out of use by the time of the Parish Tithe map of 1838-48.

A series of earthwork banks of possible medieval field boundaries are visible on aerial photographs of 1971 and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Middle Luxton. The earthworks are visible along the edge of a prominent scarp and comprise a series of broadly linear east to west and north to south aligned boundaries. The boundaries, which largely respect the historic field patterns of medieval enclosures based on strip fields, appear to have passed out of use by the time of the Parish Tithe map of 1838-48.
