Ditches and banks were visible as earthworks defining rectilinear enclosures.

Environment Agency, 1998-2014, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution), LIDAR ST0604 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 30-SEP-2014 (Cartographic). SDV359177.

Broad but shallow ditches and low banks were visible as earthworks defining rectilinear enclosures.

Hegarty, C. + Knight, S. + Sims, R., 2016-2018, The Blackdown Hills AONB and East Devon River Catchments National Mapping Programme Project (Interpretation). SDV359463.

Rectilinear enclosures or terraces defined by ditches and low banks 3 to 5 metres wide were visible as earthworks on aerial photographs of 1946 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014, east of Motts Cross, Plymtree parish.
The visible earthworks corresponded in part with field enclosures depicted on the Tithe Map for Plymtree, but not the OS First Edition 25 inch map, although they were broadly in keeping with the character of the surrounding field pattern.
The earthworks have been interpreted as the remains of former field boundaries or enclosures probably of post-medieval origin, removed prior to the mid-late-19th century.
