A broad but shallow ditch was visible as an earthwork.

A shallow r-shaped linear ditch up to circa 11 metres wide was visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs of 1946 and digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014 to the south of Middle Woodbeer Farm, Plymtree parish.
The visible earthwork did not correspond with any field boundary depicted on the 19th century mapping available to the survey, although it was in keeping with the historic character of the surrounding field pattern. It has been interpreted as the remains of a removed former field boundary probably of post-medieval origin that was removed prior to the mid-19th century.
Narrow parallel linear earthwork banks within the area enclosed by the ditch might be evidence of former orchard planting or improvement for drainage. The banks were not visible with sufficient clarity to be transcribed by the survey.
