A series of field boundaries of potential medieval date are visible as earthwork ditches on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the northeast of Higher Stout Farm. The linear field boundaries are northwest to southeast and northeast to southwest aligned. The earthworks partly correspond with field boundaries depicted here on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of the 1880’s-90’s, whilst the remaining boundaries had evidently passed out of use by this time.
