The extraction pits are visible as earthworks.

Earthwork pits of possible post-medieval to 19th century extraction pits are visible on aerial photographs of 1948 onwards and on digital images derived from lidar data captured in 2016, to the west of Northams Farm, Yarcombe. The two adjacent earthworks are sub-circular in shape and measure approximately 13m in diameter. The earthworks may be associated with the former farmstead of Steedbeer Farm, located to the immediate west.
