Full description
Environment Agency, 1998-2014, LiDAR DTM data (1m resolution), LIDAR ST0604 Environment Agency DTM 01-JAN-1998 to 30-SEP-2014 (Cartographic). SDV359177.
A pit was visible as an irregularly shaped earthwork.

A narrow and shallow pit circa 50 by 17 metres in size was visible as an earthwork on digital images derived from lidar data captured between 1998 and 2014.
The visible earthworks did not correspond with any pit features depicted in this location on the 19th century mapping available to the survey. A pond is depicted in this location on the current OS MasterMap base map. This supports the interpretation that the visible earthworks are the remains of an extractive that pit had passed out of use prior to the mid-to-late 19th century, and have recently been utilised as a pond.
